Reddit Thread Mailer — Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Reddit Thread Mailer Chrome Extension (the "Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension and remove it from your browser immediately.

2. Description of Service

Reddit Thread Mailer is a Chrome extension that generates AI-powered summaries of Reddit threads and delivers them to users via email. The Extension captures Reddit thread URLs, sends them to a secure backend service, fetches thread content via the Reddit API, generates summaries using Large Language Model (LLM) technology, and emails the summaries to the user's specified email address. The Extension uses Google OAuth for authentication and integrates with third-party services for AI processing and email delivery.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Extension. By using the Extension you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Owner grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for personal or business purposes, in accordance with these Terms.

5. Restrictions and Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, or create derivative works of the Extension.
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, rent, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Extension or any part of it.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices contained in the Extension.
  • Use the Extension to violate Reddit's Terms of Service or User Agreement.
  • Generate summaries for commercial resale or distribution without express written permission.
  • Abuse the service by submitting excessive requests or attempting to overload the backend infrastructure.

6. User Content and Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the Reddit threads you choose to summarize and how you use the generated summaries. The Owner does not control the content of Reddit threads or the AI-generated summaries and is not responsible for their accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness. You must not use the Extension to process content that infringes third-party rights or violates law or third-party terms. Summaries are generated using AI technology and may contain inaccuracies or omissions; users should verify important information independently.

7. Service Usage and Limitations

The Owner reserves the right to implement usage limitations, rate limits, or subscription models in the future. The Owner may suspend or limit access to users who abuse the service or generate excessive backend costs. Email delivery times may vary and are subject to email provider policies and technical limitations. The Owner does not guarantee delivery of all summaries or availability of the service at all times.

8. Authentication and Data Storage

The Extension uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you authorize the Extension to access your Google account information necessary for authentication purposes. Your JWT token and email address are stored in Chrome's sync storage. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials. You may sign out at any time through the Extension's settings, which will clear all stored authentication data.

9. Third-Party Services

The Extension relies on third-party services including but not limited to: Google OAuth for authentication, Reddit API for thread data retrieval, LLM providers for AI summarization, and email delivery services. Those services may collect information and have separate terms and privacy policies. The Owner is not responsible for third-party acts, omissions, service interruptions, or changes to third-party APIs or policies that may affect the Extension's functionality.

10. Privacy

Use of the Extension is also governed by the Reddit Thread Mailer Privacy Policy (available separately). By using the Extension you consent to the collection and use of information as described in that policy.

12. Updates and Modifications

The Owner may update, enhance, or modify the Extension at any time. The Owner may also modify these Terms. Changes will be effective upon posting the revised Terms or delivering notice by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

The Owner may suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason. You may uninstall or stop using the Extension at any time. Termination does not limit any other remedies the Owner may have.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Owner disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement. The Owner does not warrant that the Extension will be error-free or uninterrupted, that summaries will be accurate or complete, or that emails will always be delivered successfully.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Owner's aggregate liability to you for any damages arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Extension shall not exceed $10 USD. In no event shall the Owner be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on AI-generated summaries, missed emails, service interruptions, or data loss.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Owner and its affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the Extension, or your violation of any law or third-party rights including Reddit's terms of service.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the Owner regarding the Extension and supersede all prior agreements.

18. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds

Reddit Thread Mailer offers a monthly subscription plan that renews automatically unless canceled before the next billing cycle. By subscribing you authorize recurring monthly charges and agree to the billing terms presented at purchase.

Reddit Thread Mailer provides a free trial with five (5) summaries generations for first-time users. After the trial ends, continued use of the Extension requires a paid subscription.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact xor0110xor@gmail.com within fourteen (14) days of the charge and provide order details; refunds are issued at the Owner's discretion and may be subject to processing by the payment provider.
